Anna van Vree
Anna comes from an interdisciplinarity background, having studied Cognitive Science at the University of Amsterdam and Cognitive Semiotics at Aarhus University, taking detours in subjects such as politics of race and gender and sexuality. She is interested in the political effects of language, using cognitive science and linguistics theories to understand the underlying mechanisms of how rhetoric creates, shapes, and alters concepts in people’s minds. She has a special interest in the effects of discourse surrounding minority and/or stigmatized groups.
