Work Package II

Work Package II examines how the public reacts to moralizing political rhetoric on immigration. To do so, this work package uses multilevel statistical analyses as well as original survey experiments. We will investigate the effects of political moralization on a host of outcomes, including moral conviction, attitudinal and affective polarization, and political mobilisation related to immigration issues. This work package will contribute with new knowledge about the consequences of moralization and add to the growing literature on polarization.
